This is a note to let you know that we will no longer be hosting a virtual equinox ritual. Instead, we want to offer you some of what arose in the visioning, and some of the elements that you may find useful in this time.

The constant barrage of urgent news and communication from our phones and social media is overwhelming. We had planned on making tiny blankets and sleeping bags for our phones, and allowing our fairy godmothers to help put them to sleep. Let them rest for a spell, so we can come back to them with balance. Remember that your balance is found somewhere between constant unfiltered connection and complete social disconnection.
How to Do Nothing: Resisting the Attention Economy by Jenny Odell and Digital Minimalism: Choosing a Focused Life in a Noisy World by Cal Newport are two great books approaching this topic from and arts perspective and a tech perspective respectively. They compliment each other well.

The balance of night and day that happens at Equinox only happens for a moment. Then it’s 6 more months until the next perfect moment of balance. But we don’t have to wait 6 months for this. There are moments of balance happening constantly. Twice every moon cycle the moon is at perfect half. Every day we have dusk and dawn, we have tides perfectly between high and low. And in every breath there is this same beautiful moment of balance.
The act of balancing is not something that is static or still. Instead, balancing is a process of continually returning to that moment, over and over again. Our invitation to you is to learn and explore what the sensation of balance feels like in your body. To practice moving in to it, out of it, and back again. And then to remember that you can always return to that balance, even if it is only for a moment.
