Classes

The ways we teach magic in Reclaiming are manifold, ranging from weekly classes or weekend workshops to individual apprenticeships and longterm training – and, of course, our annual weeklong intensives, also known as Witchcamps (see BCWC on the left for more info). Classes are usually co-taught by at least two teachers, modelling shared power as well as providing different perspectives on the material.

Reclaiming has four core classes, which have been developed and used by a continually growing web of teachers across North America and Europe. The first class, Elements of Magic, is usually a prerequisite for the others – Rites of Passage, the Iron Pentacle, and the Pearl Pentacle. Many teachers also require that students have taken the Iron Pentacle before the Pearl.

The Iron Pentacle & Flamenco

June 18-19 (Saturday/Sunday)

Where: Vancouver, BC

Cost: $150-250 sliding scale

Time: Saturday 1:30 – 6:30pm; Sunday 12:00pm – 5:00pm

Use Flamenco techniques, rhythms, and duende to access altered states.

Use the points of the Iron Pentacle, Sex, Pride, Self, Power, Passion, to step into our fullness

Legend has it Flamenco was born in the forge, where gypsy blacksmiths sang to the moon to the beat of their falling hammers. We enter the forge to become fully alive and aware of our selves, self worth, our interactions and impact in the world. In this marriage of the Iron Pentacle and Flamenco we will feel the force of Sex & Duende — the powerful energies of the life force that courses through everything — and know our place.

Bramble is a Reclaiming Witch and Rosen Method Bodyworker. Her magical work centres on depth, presence, and the textures of experience as a portal to mystery steeped in symbolism, myth and dreams. Bramble brings magic into everyday lived reality.
Isabel Pacheco “La Zarmari” is a flamenco dancer and artist from Ubrique, a small town in the province of Cádiz, in Andalusia. Her dance and practice are primal and oracular, flowing out of the ancestral current that made the “dancing girls” of Cádiz highly sought after as temple dancers by the Romans, notorious for their sensuality, grace, and charm throughout the ancient world. For her, the play and theory of flamenco is a medium for altering consciousness and attaining trance states. She has worked as a professional dancer both performing and giving classes since she was a young girl, and has performed all over the world. When not travelling to teach or perform, she lives in a cave in Granada, Spain.
Translator:
Slippery Elm is a poet and bailaor flamenco. He works as the poet of the Taller de Arte Vimaambi in Granada, Spain, an office he inherited from the late María de Los Angeles Argote Molina. He will be present at the workshop as a participant and to help with translation from Spanish to English.

As an Amazon, I have learned some hard messages in my life, but continue to love learning new things about people, places, concepts, all through the eye of magic. Learning can happen from anywhere, if you truly listen.
I have great love and devotion to the Goddess and to Mystery in all possible forms, All make me take notice. I love ritual, learning and opening in a way that decimates hierarchy.  I believe that all beings are magickal beings, pulsating together as one, moment by moment.
Orrin: Wise Woman, belly dancer and lover of the little things in life, I became a solitary witch 26 years ago and have been in Vancouver Reclaiming for the past 6 years. On a path of self-discovery, exploration and learning I work to stretch beyond my perceived limitations and come into my full power as a healer/priestess of the Goddess.
I love to explore the past while I look to a future where all life is precious and magic is a fact of life.
